The Spring Festival travel rush has entered its 11th day, marking the start of the busiest period before Chinese Lunar New Year on February 10th.
More than 6 million railway trips were expected to be made on Tuesday alone, with more than 600 temporary trains running in service. That's the highest number of journeys and trains recorded since the 40-day travel rush started on January 26th. Over 400-thousand passengers were predicted to flow through Beijing on Tuesday, and that will continue for another three days until Friday. Travel in the capital city is forecast to peak on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, the weather authority has said that central China will see good weather, with rain and snow seen mainly in the eastern and western parts of China.
