Man dies in house fire

Police are investigating the death of a man in a fire in an apartment in Huilongguan, Changping district Wednesday, the Legal Mirror reported.

A witness surnamed Zheng said that he was woken up by a huge noise at around 5 am and saw thick smoke coming from an apartment on the first floor.

Most residents fled before firefighters arrived, but the man who lived in the burning house did not escape.

He had moved to the building recently and neighbors did not know him.
