A fire destroyed 92 homes in a village in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Wednesday night, local government sources said on Thursday.

There were no casualties.

The fire broke out in Heiduo Village of Diebu County in northwest China's Gansu Province around 8 p.m. and was put out Thursday morning, sources with the prefecture government said.

Situated in the Bailongjiang forest zone, the village has 136 households.

Tents have been set up by rescuers to accommodate the 420 villagers who lost their homes overnight, the sources said.

Sources with the Bailongjiang Forestry Administration said no wood fires had been reported near the village during the past two days.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
