Expert says hacking allegation illogical

Data research for cyber security, that's the daily work for Hu Yanping, Hu is the president of Data Center of China Internet, or DCCI. It is one of the major research centers for Internet development in China. Hu Yanping says he was surprised to see the US Mandiant report on China's cyber attacks on the US.

Hu Yanping, President, Data Center of China Internet, said, "The US controls the whole world's Internet technology, including the root servers, switchers, operating and security technologies. China is in a high disadvantaged and weak position."

Hu Yanping says in terms of technological distance, China is in fact a victim of hackers, rather than a perpetrator, and most of the attacks come from the US.

During 17 years in the cyber industry, Hu Yanping has witnessed all the rapid changes of China's Internet development.

Hu Yanping, President, Data Center of China Internet, said, "China's Internet development is very fast, but not strong. It has huge number of users but lacks certain security technology. Its main advantage lies in the application systems of the networks. Most Chinese Internet companies are providing application serves only, but the key cyber technology is not in China."

Internet researchers think it's illogical to believe China can attack the US in the IT field. The US accusation of China's cyber attacks is much more like an invisible war in the media space.
