Chinese festival celebrated in Bulgaria

Bulgarian and Chinese artists performed here on Sunday evening, celebrating the Lantern Festival.

The performance was joined by Bulgarian National Folklore Ensemble "Philip Koutev" and Folk Song and Dance Ensemble of Chinese Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

It's the last activity of a six-day cultural event launched in Bulgaria Mall on Tuesday to mark the Chinese Spring Festival and Chinese Lantern Festival.

Addressing the event, Liu Yonghong, Cultural Counselor at the Chinese embassy in Sofia, said these celebrations solidated friendship between China and Bulgaria.

The Lantern Festival marked the full moon, so it is hoped that relations between Bulgaria and China be as full as the moon, Liu said.
