National broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) will release a documentary on self-immolation in the Tibetan-inhabited areas of northwest China's Qinghai Province on Thursday night.
The documentary will debut at 9:30 p.m. on CCTV-4, an international channel mainly targeting overseas viewers in Chinese language.
It will also be aired on CCTV's English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian channels in coming days.
The documentary, titled "Behind the self-Immolation incidents in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture," discloses the truth about self-immolations that have occurred in the prefecture.
The Intermediate People's Court of the Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture sentenced Phagpa, 27, to 13 years in jail on Feb. 8 for inciting a monk to self-immolate.
Gyadehor, a 60-year-old Tibetan herdsman in the prefecture, was sentenced to four years in prison for inciting secession on the same day.
