Snow and powerful winds swept northeastern China on Thursday, disrupting transport by air and land.
In Jilin and Liaoning provinces and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, airports and expressways have been affected by heavy snowfall since midday on Thursday. Temperatures are forecast to plummet by five to ten degrees in these regions.
The snow has hit the coach service at Holingol, a major city in Inner Mongolia, delaying 43 coaches and stranding more than 1,200 passengers. It has also affected agriculture and coal mining in the region.
