The exquisite art of traditional Chinese painting has been practised and admired for more than two thousand years. And thanks to celebrated painter Qu Leilei, it has been introduced to a wider audience in the U.K.

Born in 1951, Qu Leilei began studying traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy at the age of seven. He moved from Beijing to London in 1986. Since then, he has become well known in Britain as a teacher and creator of Chinese brush paintings. Qu has lectured extensively in the U.K..

He is also a visiting tutor at Ruskin College in Oxford, where he shows beginners how to create elegant and tranquil images using traditional techniques. His works have been exhibited in galleries around the world.
