A female resident has alleged she was sexually harassed on a Beijing subway train by a young male passenger on Monday evening.

Police have confirmed they have received a complaint and are investigating.

The woman, surnamed He, claimed that after she got on a train at Guomao on Subway Line 1 at 7:30 pm Monday, the man followed her, even after she changed trains onto the Batong Line.

She posted a picture of the alleged sex pest on her Sina microblog, as well as a photo of a pair of jeans, on which she claimed he had ejaculated. She asked if anyone recognized the man, who looks to be in his 20s, and was wearing a black jacket, jeans and glasses.

He told the Global Times Tuesday that she reported the incident to police late Monday and has given her jeans to them for forensic testing.

"I don't know if he followed me onto the train at Guomao or not. He always stood behind me and behaved strangely, pressing against me," said He, adding the train was crowded.

She snapped a photo of the suspect at Sihui East Subway Station. When the train stopped at Communication University of China station, her destination, the suspect also ran away, said He.

"When I touched my jeans, I felt a wet patch," said He, who said she is furious. She tried to catch the man but failed, so she reported him to police.

An anonymous female police officer at Sihui Subway Station confirmed they had received a complaint and will investigate it.

"We did receive other complaints concerning sexual harassment on the subway but not as severe as this one," she said, "complaints are more common in summer when women are wearing more revealing clothes."
