Jing'an District People's Court sentenced a man to seven years in prison and fined him 8,000 yuan ($1,287) for possessing 75.26 grams of illegal drugs and providing a place for others to use them, the court said Wednesday.

The defendant, Chen Hang, was arrested on October 17 after he fled from police who came to his house investigating a neighbor's complaint, according to a press release from the court.

Police received another complaint later that evening that claimed there were prostitutes staying at the home. Police ended up finding four women from Southeast Asia there, all of whom worked as bar waitresses and singers.

Police also found amounts of cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines and ketamine in the home, which later proved to belong to Chen, the court said.
