Thirteen people were elected vice-chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress, the top legislature, on Thursday.
The following is a brief introduction to them:
Li Jianguo, born in April 1946, is a member of the Political Bureau of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and member of the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees. He is also chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
Wang Shengjun, born in October 1946, is a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee. He has served as president of the Supreme People's Court since 2008.
Chen Changzhi, born in July 1945, is chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association.
Yan Junqi, female, born in August 1946, is chairwoman of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy.
Wang Chen, born in December 1950, is a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee, and deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Shen Yueyue, female, born in January 1957, is a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee, and executive deputy head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Ji Bingxuan, born in November 1951, is a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee. He is secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Congress.
Zhang Ping, born in January 1946, has served as head of the National Development and Reform Commission since 2008.
Qiangba Puncog, born in May 1947, of Tibetan ethnic group, is vice secretary of the CPC Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee.
Arken Imirbaki, born in September 1953, of Uygur ethnic group, is chairman of the Standing Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional People's Congress.
Wan Exiang, born in May 1956, is chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang.
Zhang Baowen, born in November 1946, is chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League.
Chen Zhu, born in August 1953, is chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party. Chen has served as Minister of Heath since 2007.
