China through its embassy in Suva donated computers to Fiji's Ministry of Defense on Friday.
Pointing out China's commitment to deepening relations between the two nations, Huang Yong, Chinese ambassador to Fiji, presented the equipment to Joketani Cokanasiga, Fiji's defense minister.
"We are always ready to assist developing countries to improve their service delivery to the people who would be the biggest beneficiary of our assistance," said Huang.
Though small in amount, the computers would be put to good use in strengthening the ministry and improving its functions, he added.
Cokanasiga expressed his gratitude to China for its assistance.
"We are thankful to the embassy which came to our aid in providing these equipments to be used to improve our services to all Fijians...We hope the already strong relations we have will continue to strengthen in the many years to come," a statement from Fiji's Ministry of Information quoted Cokanasiga as saying.
