Storms bring hail, rain to China

Storms have brougt hail and rain to large areas of south and northwest China. Strong winds tore down buildings and knocked down trees. Hailstones have damaged crops, and cut power to large areas in Guizhou and Zhejiang Provinces.

In Guangdong Province, 755 houses were damaged, and two people were injured. Direct economic losses total more than seven million yuan.

Unexpected rain and snow have also hit Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in Northwest China. But due to rising temperatures in recent days, it didn't affect traffic too badly.
