Models compete to take part in China Fashion Week

China Fashion Week is not only an international platform for promoting famous brands and showcasing originality, but a dream come true for aspiring models who want to make an impression. However, making it onto this illustrious stage is by no means easy.

Thousands of glamorous models gather under one roof, ready to charm the judges.

Coming from 30 model agencies, they've already gone through fierce selection procedures to be shortlisted.

There are only about 500 places available.

Li Lin,Model Agency Manager, said, "The selection is cruel. They are all the best models in their companies. More than half of them will end up going home."

Male models are selected in the morning, while female models wait until the afternoon to enchant the designers.

Each model gets less than 20 seconds to win the judges approval. There's no second chance.

Liu Tongtong, Model, said, "This morning, I'd a bath and did a facial. Then I did the make-up. I'm wearing my favourite clothes to accentuate my body. I have to show the best of myself."

The designer's are critical and fastidious. Simply being pretty is not enough. It's the combination of modelling skill and instinct for design that matters.

S. Korean Designer, said, "Firstly we check the models' character and clothes, and then their figures and face."

Surviving the demanding mass audition is only the first step. Those selected will display the works of different designers. The designers will judge if they suit the style.

Making it to the T stage may be difficult, but catwalking confidently under dazzling flash lights is surely worth the effort.
