A woman, who attempted to kill her ex-boyfriend and herself by poisoning some wine, stood trial in Shunyi district for intentional homicide, the Legal Mirror reported Monday.
The woman, surnamed Yang, was so upset after she broke up with her boyfriend, surnamed Sun, she decided to kill herself and Sun by poisoning the wine on September 23. Sun became suspicious and called a relative, and the pair were taken to hospital. Both survived. Prosecutors said that as her victim survived, Sun's sentence can be reduced.
