A cold front has brought heavy rains to central and southern China, disrupting daily life. In central China's Hunan province, the downpour started on Monday evening. Three apartments were flooded in Yongzhou city, trapping more than 60 residents.
They were moved to safety after being rescued by police. In the southern city of Guangzhou city, thunderstorms started at 3 pm on Tuesday. Major roads were blocked, and traffic, snarled. More than 40 flights have been delayed at Baiyun Airport. Torrential rains have also pounded neighboring Guangxi province.
