A business school in Chengdu, Sichuan province, which aims to help nurture entrepreneurship skills in kids, has sparked concerns that it can lead to money worship.

The school, which targets children aged between 7 and 11, charges 30,000 yuan ($4,835) for year-long training courses to "cultivate children's ability to manage money", China National Radio reported.

The report said the classes mainly involve interaction through games and field studies.

The urban average salary in the Southwest metropolis stood at 34,008 yuan in 2011, the last time that the city's statistics authority released such information.

The report argued that the courses may lead kids to judge success by material achievements, which are not the same as happiness.
