China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has spoken over the phone with UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon. Ban expressed concern over the deepening tension on the Korean Peninsula.

He said the UN is willing to keep contact with China and other relevant parties to keep the situation under control. Wang Yi said China's stance is always clear that no matter how the situation changes, it should be resolved through dialogue, promoting denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and maintaining regional peace and stability.

The foreign minister said China rejects any kind of provocations in the region, and China will not allow anyone to make trouble in front of its door. He said China is calling for calm, and calling for the six-party talks to get back on track.
