A suspect who allegedly killed two men in a hotel in Macao in July has been caught in Lyuliang City, in north China's Shanxi Province, police said on Monday.

Police identified the suspect as Wang Lin, a native of Lyuliang.

He allegedly stabbed two gamblers to death in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Macao on July 14, before fleeing to inland provinces.

The Ministry of Public Security entrusted the Shanxi bureau to coordinate with Macao Police in handling the case.

Lyuliang police said they had hunted down Wang through 30 cities in 10 provinces before catching him in Jinzhong City in Shanxi on March 29.

Wang confessed that he killed the two men over gambling debts.

An investigation into the case is underway.
