Suicide jump off bridge fails

A man, surnamed Liu, attempted suicide by jumping off an overpass near the Beijing West Railway Station at 12:30 am Wednesday, the Legal Mirror reported Thursday.

Witnesses said that Liu quarreled with a woman on the overpass and then suddenly jumped off.

Liu's sister said that Liu came to Beijing to hunt for a job five days ago but failed, and had said he would go home. She added that Liu's mental state is unstable, and he kept claiming that someone wants to do him harm. Liu was diagnosed as having psychological problems, and sustained a fractured arm as well as losing several teeth in the fall.
