Two foreign students from the University of International Business and Economics were injured after they were hit by a car Monday afternoon while crossing the road at Huixin Dongjie in Chaoyang district, the Beijing Youth Daily reported Tuesday.

A witness, surnamed Liu, said the two male students, whose nationalities have not been disclosed, were struck when the driver of a white Audi sedan swerved to miss an electric tricycle. Both students were hospitalized with leg and head injuries. Police detained the driver, a student from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology, for questioning.
