Phony college con men jailed

Haidian District Court sentenced a duo convicted of running fake universities to lengthy prison terms on Wednesday, the Legal Mirror reported.

A man, surnamed Liao, was jailed for 11 years for operating the so-called Abraham Lincoln University. His accomplice, surnamed Li and the founder of the so-called American California Management University, received an eight-year jail term. In total, both men earned more than 2.6 million yuan ($421,210) from their scams.
