A Taiwanese woman died when her husband detonated homemade explosives at a court in south China's Guangdong Province on Friday, local authorities said.
The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the People's Court of Meixian County, when Yeh Lei-fen, a Taiwanese woman, was standing trial as the plaintiff in a divorce case.
Her husband Wu Qingchun, a native of Meixian County, detonated an explosive device that he made and stabbed her with a knife before detonating another homemade explosive device in court.
Yeh was confirmed dead on the spot, and her sister was injured in the explosion, according to a principal of the court.
Wu has been seized by local police.
Yeh had filed for divorce prior to these proceedings, but her previous suit had been rejected by the local court.
