Quake-hit Sichuan province is internationally known for its panda reserves. Although the facilities at the Bifeng valley panda reserve, 30 kilometers from Ya'an city, have suffered damage, the 62 pandas there are reportedly safe.

Most of the pandas are gradually recovering from the shock caused by the quake.

But some of the young ones climbed to the top of trees during the earthquake. They still refuse to come down. Their keepers can do nothing for now but wait for them to come down when they feel reassured. Keepers say there's no need to worry about their condition.
