China's Ministry of Public Security has issued an urgent transportation command. To ensure the supply of relief goods and a lifeline for the vehicles that deliver them, local authorities have called on all public vehicles to drive away from the quake stricken areas.
Public vehicles are suggested to take external roads rather than entering the areas. A Vice Minister from the Ministry of Public Security commented on the request.
Huang Ming, vice minister, Ministry of Public Security, said, "The priority must be to supply those relief goods that are in immediate demand. Supplies that are not urgent can wait for those relief goods in immediate needs. They can take alternative routes. We need to process the supplies in a scientific way."
