Ensuring daily necessities in quake zone

2013-04-23 14:05 CNTV     Web Editor: yaolan comment

People in the quake hit areas are lacking daily necessities. To cope with this, a total of 19,000 soldiers and officers from China's military and armed police forces have been deployed to find survivors and resettle locals.

To ensure food, water and medicine supplies, the People's Liberation Army Air Force carried out its first airdrop operation to deliver food and water to the areas on Monday. And the China Food and Drug Administration is speeding up its efforts to provide quake-relief drugs, medical equipment and blood products. 200 make-shift toilets have also been dispatched by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to prevent public health risks.
