The Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Center brought a stranded cruise liner carrying 437 passengers back to port early Monday after the ship broke down near the Yangtze River Estuary, the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration said.

The ship, the SuperStar Gemini, was on its way from Shanghai to South Korea Saturday when one or more unidentified objects apparently got caught in the ship's propellers around noon, according to a press release from the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration.

The center dispatched a rescue ship to the site the same day. On Sunday afternoon, it sent three high-powered tug boats to pull it back to the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port, according to the press release. The ship arrived at 2 am Monday.

The administration plans to check the ship's propellers to determine whether they were damaged before the ship broke down, according to the press release.
