Visitors will receive discounts on tickets at more than 1,200 scenic spots in China during the upcoming May Day holiday, from April 29 to May 1, the National Development and Reform Commission said on Thursday.
A total of 60 5A-level national tourist attractions, 350 4A-level scenic spots and 800 other places will cut prices by 20 percent on average, it said.
The list of scenic spots offering preferential prices, including the Yungang Grottoes in northern Shanxi and Changbai Mountain in Jilin province, was published on the commission's website.
To prevent the arrival of an excessive number of tourists, some of the scenic spots will also extend the period for preferential prices.
