(ECNS) -- China's Ministry of Public Security on Thursday published 10 typical cases of meat-related crime uncovered this year during a campaign.

One of the cases occurred in Benxi, northeast China's Liaoning province, where police uncovered smuggled frozen beef worth 60 million yuan.

Police in north China's Inner Mongolia found a company using chemicals to make "fake" beef.

In Wuxi, east China's Jiangsu province, police rounded up people who had made fake mutton from fox, mink and rat by adding chemicals since 2009. The products were sold to markets in many regions, including Jiangsu province and Shanghai.

In southwest China's Guizhou province, police busted two meat processing rings and arrested six people who had sold massive amounts of chicken feet soaked in poisonous peroxide liquid and chemicals.

Suspects in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, were also arrested in March for selling meat products processed with chemicals.

One person was killed and some hospitalized after eating poisonous mutton in Shaanxi province's Fengxiang last July. A suspect surnamed Shi was seized in February by local police.

Dens processing and selling the meat of dead pigs were busted separately by police in Anhui province and southeast China's Fujian province.

Police in Sichuan province arrested suspects who had injected water into pigs before carrying them to a slaughterhouse.

In Liaoning province, a group was busted last month for processing and selling more than 20,000 dead chickens since 2007.
