Twenty-one Party officials involved in the sex video scandal that surfaced in the Chongqing Municipality late last year were punished by the local commission for discipline inspection in accordance with Party rules, said the press office under the municipal government Tuesday.
Among those officials, Lei Zhengfu, former Party chief of Beibei district, will be expelled from the Party and fired, after being handed over to the judiciary organ to face charges after an investigation by the local prosecutor's office soon.
Xia Zeliang, former Party chief of Nan'an district, will also face criminal charges, while Han Shuming, former head of Changshou district, is under investigation for severe discipline violations.
Punishment, including warnings, was also given to 18 other Party officials for breaching moral principles.
