Bright rebuts claim of rat in beverage

Bright Dairy is asking police to investigate an online post that claimed a rat was found Monday in one of the dairy giant's milk products.

"We ran self-checks the moment we noticed the online complaint. We need to tell our customers that it is technically impossible for things like that to happen in the process of our production," said a public relation officer surnamed Yin from Bright Dairy.

A poster called Katharine_Style posted a picture and claimed that a friend found a rat in one of the company's drinks and was then sent to the hospital. In the picture, there was an unidentified black substance in the drink carton.

"We tried to contact the poster, but that person could not be reached. We do not know why the netizen did not also complain to us," Yin said.

By Monday evening, Katharine_Style had deleted the picture and the post without any clarification. Still, the post had been reposted more than 1,000 times on different micoblog accounts.
