The Philippine representative to Taiwan, and Taiwan authorities are set to hold a press conference on last week's shooting of a Taiwan fisherman by the Philippine Coast Guard.
It will address compensation and apology requirements. The Philippines' government has reportedly agreed three demands by the Taiwan authorities, including making an apology and clarifying the truth. But there's been no formal response on compensation.
The Philippines will also send a special envoy to Taiwan to show good will. The envoy is expected to propose compensation, and make an apology to the victim's family.
