China steps up city construction of Sansha

An inspection group from China's Hainan Province has completed an overall inspection of the country's newly established city of Sansha, in the South China sea. This is the first comprehensive inspection after the city was founded in June last year.

The inspection was aimed at promoting construction in the city and to assert sovereignty over nearby islets and surrounding waters.
