Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to begin a multi-nation tour to Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica, Mexico and the US, later this month. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang said Xi Jinping's visits to Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica and Mexico will inject new vitality to China's relations with Latin American and Caribbean countries.
It will also be President Xi's first visit to the US since he took office in March. President Xi will meet with US President Barack Obama to exchange views on international and regional issues of common concern.
He also said the meeting will bolster the development of China-US relations, and promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world. Qin added that Thomas Donilon, US President Barack Obama's national security advisor, will visit China from May 26th to 28th to prepare for the summit.
