China beat India 3-1 on Thursday to take the title of the China International Men's Volleyball Tournament in Central China city Luohe.
Earlier, China scored two straight wins by beating Kazakhstan and its domestic men's league club HenanTianguan, all by 3-0 on Tuesday and Wednesday, after the domestic club replaced Australia who skipped the tournament due to schedule conflict.
Against India, China lost the first set 25-21 but won the next three 26-24, 25-20 and 25-18.
"Setters played too slow to organize efficient attacks and I will make some changes," said Xie Guochen, who coached the China national team for less than one month, and hoped to win the Asian Championship in August this year to regain its status of a traditional powerful team in the continent.
Kazakhstan defeated India 3-2 on Wednesday but lost to Henan Tianguan on Thursday, while India beat Henan Tianguan on Tuesday.
The four teams will go to Luoyang, another city in Central China, for the second leg of the tournament next week.
