An investigation is underway for the fire that broke out in a state-owned grain warehouse in Lindian, in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
After examining the conveyer belt, police found that the cause of the fire was a short-circuit caused by wear-and-tear of an insulation wire. Flammable reed mat was then lit on fire, which led to the disaster.
The grain warehouse belongs to the state-owned China Grain Reserve Corporation. Nine people are now in the custody of local police and being questioned for the incident.
