(Ecns) – The Philippine National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday submitted an official report on the fatal shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman by members of the Philippine Coast Guard.
According to a Taiwan news website, the report names the murderer in the incident and also clarifies that the shots taken at the Taiwanese fishermen were not acts of defense. The report also proposes to pursue criminal charges against the persons who shot at the Taiwanese.
NBI Deputy Director Virgilio Mendez said on Tuesday that the report will be released to the public soon.
