China condemns attack on Chinese students in France

The Chinese embassy in Paris has strongly condemned Friday's attack on six Chinese students in western France. The embassy urged French authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of Chinese students in the country. The students were attacked at their home by drunken locals in the Bordeaux wine-producing region.

A female student in her 20s received serious facial injuries from a glass bottle, and is being treated in hospital. Two of the three suspects have been arrested. French Interior Minister Manuel Valls condemned the attack, describing it as an act of xenophobia. The Chinese officials are now in Bordeaux to follow up the incident and visit the injured students.
