In recent years, China has faced serious food safety problems, including scandals involving meat, milk, water, and wine.
China's national "Food Safety week" has begun. It's jointly organized by 14 units including the State Council Food Safety Commission Office, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Education.
Around 70 activities will held during the 10 days around the country to call on everyone to safeguard food safety. Exhibitions, forums, and prize quizzes will be held. Officials say people can learn about China's current food safety situation and discuss measures and new technologies to ensure food safety on the event.
