Beijing Pangu Investment Co Ltd signed a cooperation agreement with representatives from Paramount Pictures regarding the shooting of its upcoming blockbuster Transformers 4 on Tuesday during the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival.
As the first Chinese company to formally enter a partnership involving Transformers 4, Beijing Pangu Investment Co will provide shooting resources for Michael Bay, the film's director, including landmark building Pangu Plaza, according to the agreement.
Near the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube in Beijing, Pangu Plaza is a large-scale project that comprises five iconic structures.
This is the first time that Pangu forms a partnership for the production of a Hollywood movie but there will be more similar projects in the future, said Zhou Ning, an official representative of Beijing Pangu Investment Co.
LeeAnne Stables, president of consumer products with Paramount Pictures, said that the Transformers 4 team is looking forward to come to China for filming, which will take place in the second half of the year. She declined to provide financial details regarding the agreement.
