Vietnamese president visits China

Vietnamese President Truong Tang Sang has arrived in China on a three day visit.

President Xi Jinping welcomed him outside the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. President Sang received a 21 gun salute and later reviewed a guard of honor from the three services of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. President Sang who is in China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping is expected to boost the comprehensive strategic partnership with China.

This is the first time he is meeting President Xi Jinping. The two leaders will hold talks on bilateral ties, regional affairs and international issues of common concern. Both sides are expected to sign a number of cooperative agreements.

Besides Beijing, President Truong Tang Sang will continue his journey to the city of Guangzhou, where the founder of the Vietnamese Communist Party Ho Chi Minh began his political life.
