David Beckham has arrived in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing. There he met fans and Chinese youth players in a training session at the city's Olympic Sports Center.
Beckham is on the second stop of his seven-day Chinese tour, which covers Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. This is his second tour of the Middle Kingdom since he assumed the role of ambassador for the Football Program in China and China's Super League in March. It's also his first public appearance since his retirement in May.
After a press briefing, Beckham swapped his suit and tie for a training kit and entered the pitch at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, the stands of which were opened for free to the public.
And as he played in a kick-around with kids the fans were most amused when Beckham lifted up one of them to steal the ball from him. Which to be honest is probably a sending off offence. Afterwards Becks said the sport should all be about the kids.
