Yang Jiechi begins two-day official visit to Nepal

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi arrived in Kathmandu on Monday for a two-day official visit. Yang is the first senior foreign government official to visit Nepal after the formation of Interim Election Government on March 14.

During his visit Yang is expected to focus on current political situation in Nepal, investment in development projects and China's security concerns, Nepal government officials told Xinhua.

Two agreements will be signed during the visit, one with Nepal' s Election Commission to provide the commission 10 million RMB for the November polls, another on setting up an Armed Police Force ( APF) training academy.

Yang is also set to open the Kathmandu Ring Road Improvement Project on Tuesday, Nepal's Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire told the media.

During his stay in Nepal, Yang is scheduled to meet Chairman of Interim Election Government Khil Raj Regmi, Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Vice President Paramananda Jha and other high- level government officials, according to the itinerary provided by Nepal government.
