Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman's giant sculpture Rubber Duck will visit the capital for Beijing Design Week (BDW) from September 26 to October 3, the Xinhua News Agency reports.
Hofman signed a contract with BDW organizers on Saturday agreeing to bring a slightly smaller version of his famous inflatable sculpture to the capital. The duck will stand about 10 meters high, around 6.5 meters shorter than the one displayed in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor during May.
Hofman is considering potential locations to display the duck, including Beihai Park, Houhai, the Summer Palace's Kunming Lake and the Olympic Forest Park's Aohai Lake. Rubber Duck has inspired a slew of imitations in China, with sightings of knockoffs in nearly a dozen cities.
