From gorgeous gowns, to dapper suits, and paparazzi to plenty of bling, the 16th Shanghai Film Festival was what you would expect from a star-studded event.
However, what makes the festival stand out is its international draw, making it one of the most popular international industry events attracting celebrities from hundreds of countries. We were on the red carpet as the glamourati arrived in style. So what did they think of this year's festival?
"A lot of people!" actor Chow Yun-Fat said.
"It's where movie dreams come true," director Gu Changwei
"To have these festivals shows the industry growing, and there are better things to come," actor
Donnie Yen said.
"I think it's time for the world to get to know Chinese culture better. That is my passion," recording artist Jay Chou said.
"It's more international than other festivals and it's a very interesting event as a producer and actress," actress/producer Maria Cucinotta said.
"I think Shanghai has been the cradle of the movie industry in China. I think this is a very important, essential festival of the country," director Tsui Hark said.
"It's a great place to watch international movies as well as support local Chinese films," actor Andy Lau said.
"Chinese artists do great work; I very much admire Chinese films. I'd love to do more co-productions," director Oliver Stone said.
