Heavy rain is continuing to fall in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangzte River for the sixth consecutive day.
Torrential rain pounded the south and southwest of China on Thursday. The Qiantang River in east China's Hangzhou is continuing to rise. As a result, the navigation route had to be closed by 5pm on Thursday.
But the weather forecast predicts less rainfall is expected in south China next week. Meanwhile, north China will see more heavy rain for the next couple of days. Rain will cover parts of north China, including Beijing. Rainy weather is expected to continue next week in these regions.
