DreamWorks Experience launched in Macao

The DreamWorks Experience that brings cartoon characters to life is officially launched on Monday with the aim for prolonging the length of visitors' stay in Macao.

A meet-and-greet with cartoon characters from movies such as Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon will be available at Sands Cotai Central's Paradise Gardens for all local and non-local visitors. A DreamWorks parade will be held daily through the first floor of Shoppes Cotai Central, featuring characters, dancers and performances.

From July 1 until Sept. 30, the themed experience that has resulted from the alliance between Sands China Ltd. and DreamWorks Animation will be available at Sheraton Macao Hotel and Holiday Inn in the Cotai Central under Sands China.

Guests of the two hotels can enjoy "Shrekfast with the DreamWorks Gang," an interactive experience where guests can have breakfast with characters. Poolside movies are provided at both hotels every weekend.

Edward Tracy, president and chief executive officer of Sands China Ltd., said that the DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Resorts is a milestone development for family-friendly entertainment in Macao. By launching family-themed events, the company hopes to encourage families to spend more time in Macao.

In addition, Yoshi Maruyama, global head of Location Based Entertainment of DreamWorks Animation, revealed that the studio's latest movie, Turbo, the story of a snail who dreams of winning the Indy 500, will premiere at an exclusive event at the Venetian Theater on July 13.
