In a bid to improve judicial transparency, China's top court has posted its first batch of judgments online, the judicial management office of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) said Tuesday.
All of the judgements made by the SPC will continue to be publicized on its official website (www.court.gov.cn/zgcpwsw), except those concerning national secrets, trade secrets or personal privacy.
The office said the move is conducive to both guaranteeing people's rights to be informed and reinforcing judicial supervision.
In order to protect people's legitimate rights, personal information related to the cases, including names, home addresses and ID card numbers, will be redacted before the judgments are posted online,
With the help of the Internet, judicial publicity will also broaden its coverage easily and at low cost, as well as further facilitate the professional skills of judges, according to the office.
