Heartbroken schoolboy drinks bottle of liquor

A 16-year-old boy drank a bottle of white Chinese spirit in a fit of self-pity after his romantic advances were spurned by a classmate, HLNews.cn, a news portal in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, reported on Sunday.

After being turned away by the girl in a middle school in Harbin, the boy, surnamed Tang, went to a restaurant and drank a 500-ml bottle of the liquor.

The restaurant owner called the police when he refused to pay the bill and had difficulty communicating.

The police contacted the boy's mother, who paid the bill and took him home.
