A Chinese chemist living in the US state of New Jersey was found guilty Tuesday of murder for poisoning her husband using the toxic metal thallium she obtained at her workplace.
Li Tianle, 43, was also found guilty by a Middlesex County jury of hindering her prosecution. She will be sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
Li, who worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb, a New York City-based biopharmaceuticals company, killed 39-year-old Wang Xiaoye by giving him thallium, a chemical used in rat poisons. Prosecutors say she slipped the chemical into Wang's food in January 2011.
